Carol Singing

On Wednesday 17th December we went carol singing at the Post Office. Third class and fourth class went together. We sang all our favourite carols, including Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Santa Claus is coming to town, The First Noel, Joy to the World, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Fifth and Sixth class sang after us. In total, we raised just over one thousand euro for St Vincent de Paul!! A huge thank you to everyone to turned up to watch us, who clapped for us, and who put money in our buckets. St Vincent de Paul will help families all over Cavan to have a better Christmas, thanks to all of you!

On Friday December 12th, just before 10am, it started to snow. We were thrilled! We were so excited, we went outside and took a photo. By breaktime, the snow was gone. We were devastated!

Christmas Carols

On Wednesday 17th we will be singing Christmas carols at the Post Office. Proceeds of the collection will go towards the Cavan Branch of St.Vincent de Paul. Come along and support us next Wednesday! Bring your friends! We will be there from 10am to 11.30am. Check back here for the photos!

Feast of the Immaculate Conception

We went to mass in the Cathedral, as December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. When we were there, we visited the crib up on the altar. On Christmas Eve, baby Jesus will be placed in the crib. We thought the crib figures were beautiful.

Goodbye Ms Phelan!

Today we say goodbye to Ms Phelan. She has taught us so much, and we have really enjoyed having her in our class. We all learned so much from her lessons. She was so nice to us, we will all miss her. We hope she comes back to St Clare's, and she can teach us again!
Goodbye Ms Phelan, and happy Christmas, from Ms Doyle and all the girls in Prefab 2A.

The Hollow: Art Exhibition

We visited The Hollow Art Exhibition, in the Teachers' Centre on Main Street. This is an exhibition of artworks based on the folklore of Cavan. We wrote a wish on a piece of paper, and hung our wishes on the branches of a Wishing Tree. The artists told us some Cavan folktales. We loved this exhibition. It is on until Sunday.

The Celts: clay pots

We have been learning all about the Celts. We made pinch pots from clay, like the Celts would have made.
