Karate exhibition

Well done to Corina from our class, who along with some other children from her karate class, took part in a karate exhibition in St Clare's recently.

Gymnastics

As part of our PE curriculum, we are learning gymnastics in class every Wednesday. Our lesson takes place in the hall. We do cartwheels, handstands, balancing, skipping, forward rolls and lots more. Our flexibility is increasing because of all the stretches we learn. Gymnastics is fun!!

Sportathon

The annual St Clare's Sportathon took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 25th and 26th. Activities for senior classes were on Tuesday.
We started off with Orienteering with Mrs Reilly. This was followed by skipping with Mr McGovern in the main yard, before athletics with Mrs Cosgrove. Before breaktime we had Co-operative Games with Mr Walsh.
After break we participated in Gymnastics with Ms Hughes, Ball Skills with Ms E Brady. Next it was our turn to have ice-cream, which we all enjoyed!
After lunch we all took part in Circuit Training with Mr Arkins, Ms Meehan and Ms Phelan. This was followed by Yoga with Mrs Lynch, and finally our day ended with Dance with Ms Gorby.
We had fantastic fun. It was a brilliant day, and all funds raised will go towards buying new computers for the computer room.
We hope you like the photos!!!

Green Schools Walk for Water

On Thursday April 6th we took part in the Green Schools Walk for Water. This is part of our work towards our Green Flag for Water.
We watched a video which showed how women and girls in Ethiopia have to hike up hills twice a day to collect water. This water is not even clean, it is contaminated. Here in Ireland we take our water for granted. In some countries they are not so lucky.
