Tin Whistle

We have been learning tin whistle with Padraig Lynch since September. We have a lesson every Wednesday. Some of the tunes we have been learning are: Mo Ghile Meár, Oró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile, Scarborough Fair, It's a Long Way to Tipperary and Ireland's Call. We have now started our Christmas tunes, which are Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Winter Wonderland and Fairy Tale of New York. Don't forget to PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FAI Futsal Soccer Tournament

Congratulations to the girls who represented our class in the FAI Futsal Soccer Tournament in Cavan Astro Park this week. Well done girls!!

Vocabulary Development Workshop

Today the author Gerry Boland came to our class to do a creative writing workshop as part of our Vocabulary Development work. He has written many books for children, including books about Marco the bear. We worked on a story today about a rabbit and a hedgehog. We came up with so many great ideas. Gerry will be coming back to us soon for two more workshops.

Art Competition Winner

Congratulations to Darani, who won 2nd prize in the Cavan Credit Union Art Competition. Darani was presented with her prize at an awards ceremony in the Hotel Kilmore on Thursday 17th November. She was the only winner from St Clare's. Well done Darani!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!

Wishing all our family and friends a very happy Halloween! Stay safe around bonfires and fireworks. Stay well back from bonfires, and don't hold fireworks in your hand. Be careful when out trick or treating, stay together and watch out for traffic. Have fun!!!

Cross Country Running

Congratulations to the athletes who have been selected on the St Clare's Cross Country Team. The girls have been training hard after school on Mondays, and during PE class. They will be taking part in the Schools Cross Country Championship in Killinkere on Wednesday October 26th. Good luck girls!!!!!
