School Sports Day

Our School Sports Day took place on Tuesday June 16th. The weather was perfect, mild and dry but not too sunny. Firstly we took part in the Skipping Workshop. Next it was on to the Co-operative Games session, followed by Yoga. We were all very relaxed after that, so it was time for a break. After breaktime we had a Dance session in the main yard, where we showcased our moves. After big lunch, we went to the pitch for the Races. We took part in sprints, egg and spoon, sack race and 3 legged race. Next it was time for Traditional Games in the hall, where we played blind man's buff, ship to shore, and catch the tail. Finally, we went back outside for our Ice-cream. We had a wonderful day.

Be Active: Rounders

We have been learning how to play rounders, as part of our Be Active sessions. Here we are in action:

Tayto Park

On Monday 8th June, third and fourth classes went on their school tour to Tayto Park. It was fantastic! The weather was lovely, and we didn't need our coats. First we went on the rides in Adventure Zone 1 and Adventure Zone 2. Some of us went on the Rotator, the bungee air jumper, the ponies, the 5d cinema, the air race, skywalk, the zipline, rock climbing, and a few people even went on the huge rollercoaster! We had lunch outside on the patio area, followed by a guided tour of the zoo. Finally, we had a tour of the tayto factory. We had a brilliant day!

Soccer Blitz

On Friday 5th June our class went to Cavan Astro Park in Tullacmongan, to take part in an FAI soccer blitz organised by our coach Stephen McSherry. The weather was lovely. We really enjoyed ourselves. We are very grateful to Stephen for coming into our school to coach us, and then for bringing us up to the astro park. It is a fabulous pitch.

You don't need a lot of equipment to be active. Here we are, playing the games Stuck in the Mud and Cops and Robbers. These are games you can play anywhere. We had great fun chasing each other!
