International Children's Day

As part of International Children's Day, we took part in a flower arranging workshop with the ladies from Teach Oscail. It was brilliant. We made a Christmas flower centrepiece, using ivy, holly and flowers, and put a beautiful candle in the middle. When the workshop was over we were able to bring our centrepiece home.

Science Week

As part of Science Week, we took part in an animal presentation on Monday 13th. Two visitors from Animal Conservation came over from England, and gave a presentation on animals. They brought some animals for us to look at and even hold, for example giant snails, bearded dragons and snakes. They also had elephant tusks and snake skins. They told us about protecting endangered species. It was a great presentation.

Library Visit

On Thursday we visited the County Library. It was a lovely sunny morning and we enjoyed the walk. We had a lovely time reading books on the comfortable seats in the library. We saw the huge painting of Gulliver in Lilliput, which we had read about this week in English. We hope to visit the library again soon.

School Tour

On Wednesday May 24th 3rd and 4th classes went on their school tour.
We went to Gr8 Entertainment in Castleblaney, Co Monaghan.
We started off in the huge climbing frame area, and had a turn in the Crazy Golf too. Some of us played soccer and did cartwheels in the indoor soccer area. We sat at the tables and had our snacks.
Then it was time for lunch. We had chips, sausages and chicken nuggets.
After lunch we went upstairs to the bowling and the Lego area. Finally we went to the cinema, where we saw a Toy Story movie and an Ice Age movie.
Then it was time to go. We were given a voucher each, which we can use if we go back to Gr8 Entertainment with our families over the summer.
It was a brilliant tour.
