Shoe Box Appeal

St Clare's took part in the Shoe Box Appeal this Christmas. Pupils sent in almost 200 shoe boxes, packed with essentials and gifts for homeless people in Ireland. Here we are, helping to load the shoe boxes into the charity van, to be taken away to homeless shelters in Dublin and distributed to the people who need them. Thank you very much to all the parents who packed a shoe box for this appeal.

Singing Star

Congratulations to Caragh, who was chosen to sing in the Christmas Carol Service in the Cathedral, which took place on Tuesday. The Cavan Singers, Symphonia Orchestra, and choirs from St Pats, Loreto College, Breifne College and the Royal School, all took part in this wonderful concert. The cathedral was full to capacity. Caragh sang 'Silent Night' accompanied by the organist, and she was absolutely brilliant. Well done Caragh.

Swimming Gala

Congratulations to Nancy and Darani, who represented St Clare's in the Schools Swimming Gala on Wednesday. The girls were brilliant, swam their very best, and Nancy won a silver medal in back crawl.

Christmas Carols

On Monday 12th we went to the Post Office to sing carols on the town square. We were fundraising for St Vincent de Paul, to raise money to help the less fortunate in our community. 3rd 4th 5th and 6th classes all  took part, and altogether we raised over 900euro. Lots of our parents came along to support us. A big thank you to everyone who stood to watch us, and to everyone who put money in our buckets.
