Cumann na mBunscol Quiz
Congratulations to Seána, who represented St Clare's in the Cumann na mBunscol Primary School Quiz in the Hotel Kilmore, on Thursday 26th February. 93 teams from all over County Cavan took part. St Clare's had three teams participating in the quiz. All three teams did very well, answering some very difficult questions. The girls did themselves, their parents and their school proud. Well done Seána.
Claude Monet
We have been learning all about the French Impressionist artist, Claude Monet. We love his flower paintings. He loved to paint the flowers in his garden. He painted many paintings of waterlillies. These are our interpretations of his beautiful painting, Bridge Over Water Lillies.

Science: Electricity
We have been learning all about electricity and circuits in science class. We carried out a number of electricity experiments. Firstly we had to make a circuit using a bulb, a battery and two pieces of wire. We had to get the bulb to light up. Then we had to get the bulb to light, using one piece of wire. Stand back: scientists at work!

A Ladd In Trouble
We went to the Town Hall on Wednesday to see St Felim's production of A Ladd in Trouble. We were very lucky to get to go, because only a few St Clare's classes were invited. It was a fabulous show. It told the story of Aladdin. It was very funny. The actors were brilliant. We really enjoyed it. Well done St Felim's NS!
Let the show begin! Break a leg! |

Skipping Workshop
On Friday 6th February we took part in a Skipping Workshop with a coach called Mark. We all went over to the hall, where Mark taught us all sorts of complicated skipping, for individual, pairs and groups. It was brilliant. In the afternoon we went back over to watch the exhibition. Every class who had taken part was there. A few people from each class took part in the exhibition. Chloe Caudilla, Aleen and Chloe Collins represented our class. The exhibition was fantastic. We loved the workshop.

Library Visit
On Thursday we went on a visit to the Johnson Library in the town. It was a lovely bright morning so we enjoyed walking down. We spent a very peaceful half hour, sitting on the sofas and chairs, reading books. It is a lovely library to visit.
